Disney World Events in November

!±8± Disney World Events in November

The year-ending holiday season is the best time to pay a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. There are more season-specific events during this time than any other. This is great news for you if you happen to be traveling to Orlando in the upcoming month, but the number of events can be a bit overwhelming and daunting to keep up with so we have outlined the latest happenings at the Walt Disney World Resort for your convenience.

First up in November is the Festival of the Masters at the Downtown Disney Marketplace. Here you will find one of the most eclectic and critically acclaimed open air art festivals in the United States. Young children may not be too excited to pay a visit here but don't worry, just a few steps away is the World of Disney store. The largest Disney store in the country will keep the young ones entertained while teenagers and adults enjoy the art festival. The festival runs from November 11-13, 2005.

During the weekend of November 12, the biggest soap opera stars gather at the Disney-MGM Studios for ABC Super Soap Weekend. Fans of various ABC daytime dramas will be able to meet and greet dozens of popular stars in person, including Susan Lucci.

Also showing at the Disney-MGM Studios, beginning on Monday November 14, is The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights. This brilliant display of Christmas lights and decorations is not to be missed. Come out and marvel at the sight of over 5 million lights adorning the New York Street district of the Disney-MGM Studios. Insider fact: This event requires the use of 32 miles of extension cables and 66 snow machines!

For more holiday fun, head back to the Downtown Disney Marketplace for the Festival of the Seasons. The festive atmosphere during this event is very infectious and beams of holiday cheer. Stroll through and visit the various shops and enjoy the Disney-themed nighttime entertainment. This month-long festival runs from November 19 to December 24.

The EPCOT Center also joins in the holiday cheer with Holidays Around The World. Circle the vast World Showcase lagoon and celebrate the holiday season as you indulge in music, characters, and food from around the world. This is certainly something the entire family can enjoy. Holidays Around The World can be experienced from November 25 to December 30.

At last, towards the end of November, you will find Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney's Magic Kingdom. This is Disney World's cornerstone holiday celebration, so if you are visiting the resort during November 27 to December 20, you will surely not want to miss this event. The celebration is complete with a special parade, a new fireworks spectacular, and cheerful stage shows.

At Walt Disney World, the holiday season is truly "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year".

Saving On Your Walt Disney World Resort and Theme Park Vacation

!±8± Saving On Your Walt Disney World Resort and Theme Park Vacation

Would you like to make magic vacation memories at Walt Disney World Resort? All you have to do is find a travel agent who specializes in Disney's magic your way packages and tell him/her what you want. Your package will include many things for your Walt Disney World vacation.

Save Money With Vacation Packages

It is possible to save money by getting room only and package discounts at select Disney hotels. Special discount codes can be found on internet sites or by calling 407-W-DISNEY and asking about discount offerings. Many travel agents that specialize in Disney travel will have access to these special "mouse discounts". Usually you must pay a deposit of one night when you book your trip. Of course, some dates may be blacked out but for a great discount, who cares?

Using A Travel Agent

Working with travel agents is easy and it costs nothing to use them. The travel agent can help you negotiate all the ins and outs of planning a Disney's "Magic Your Way" vacation package at Walt Disney World Resort. Look for a travel agency that specializes in Disney vacation plans and is an "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner." A travel agent will give you his/her full attention and the best deals that you can get.

Tips on Choosing an Agent

• Pick an agent who will send your money directly to Disney. In fact, make your check out to Disney and not to the agent. Sadly, a few families have lost their deposit by working with unscrupulous agents.
• Pay for your trip with a credit card. This gives you buyer protection in case something happens.

Discount Information

• Discounted "Room Only" rates are offered on certain dates at certain resort properties. You can save up to 35% on certain Disney World properties.

• Bounce Back Discounts are offered to you when you check out from your current Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The idea is to get you to go ahead and book your next Walt Disney World visit while on the premises. You have to make the reservation before you check out so if you don't get a "Bounce Back" flyer in your room, check on the in house channel or ask at the hotel desk.

• Florida residents get special discount offers throughout the year.

• "Florida Neighbors" discounts are offered to residents of SC, NC, GA, and AL.

Value Season

Walt Disney World continuously adjusts the dates of Value Season and the number of days in the season for each level of resort rooms. Check with your agent for details - going to Disney during the value season not only saves money but can help you see more due to the lower crowd levels.

Tickets and Passes

Of course you will want to order your tickets ahead so that you won't be spending valuable time standing in line at the theme parks or water parks.

Discount tickets are often offered from brokers who buy the tickets in order to offer them as a premium when selling condos or apartments in the area. Don't spend your vacation time listening to a high-pressure sales pitch for buying a property you probably don't want and can't afford.

When choosing your ticket consider the number of days you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resorts and buy accordingly. For multiple day visits it is recommended that you add the "no expiration" option as well as the "park hopper" option. Add a "Fun and more" option for things like golf, Disney Quest or a water park.

Enjoy Full Fun Without Paying A Full Price

There is no reason to pay full price for a Walt Disney World Resort Magic Your Way family vacation when you can find deep discount offers that will make your trip cost less. Maybe you will even save enough to be able to spend an extra day or two.

Walt Disney World Souvenirs That Don't Cost a Fortune

!±8± Walt Disney World Souvenirs That Don't Cost a Fortune

Mickey ears, stuffed animals, princess dresses and pirate swords. Walt Disney World is filled with venues for selling souvenirs and much of it is very overpriced. It's the nature of souvenirs that you take them home and rarely look at them again (except possibly the stuffed animals for small kids), so why do we spend so much money on things that don't matter once we get home? I did the Mickey Mouse ear hats and the expensive t-shirts, and then I decided to get creative. We always leave the parks with inexpensive Walt Disney World souvenirs to help us remember our trip. None of them cost very much money, and many of them are absolutely free.

Pressed Pennies

There are hundreds of pressed penny machines in Walt Disney World, and each one creates a unique design. Simply put in a penny along with two quarters and push the lever. Out pops your penny, squashed and embossed with a Disney design. There are sets to collect, like the Epcot country logos, pennies commemorating rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Tower of Terror and even pennies marked with resort hotel designs. Check in Downtown Disney for collector's penny holder books to hold your loot. Your kids can add to this collection over and over again. Check out the pressed pennies and quarters list on Allears.net for an idea of all the locations.

Special Friend Photos

If your child has a special stuffed animal, you'll likely have it along on your vacation. Turn that animal into the subject of a photo series all over Disney World. Bring the animal along on the rides, get it a seat at the table for dinner, have it give Snow White a hug in front of the castle. Snap pictures of how much fun your child's stuffed friend is having all week long. Print out the photos when you get home to create a unique photo album for your child to keep.

Autographs

While many people buy specialized autograph books at the resorts or parks, you can get one at a dollar store before you pack for the parks. Look for a notebook with a Disney design on front, or buy a plain autograph book and let your child design the cover with Disney character stickers. Get autographs from the characters, of course, but make it even more special. Ask cast members for their autograph when they offer a little bit of Disney magic for your day. Request autographs from waiters who smiled through a busy shift, cashiers who offer to let your kids peruse their trading pins, people who run the rides with a smile on their face or custodians who do a fabulous job at a difficult task. You'll make the cast member's day and make yourself feel pretty good, too.

T-shirts and Pins

If you absolutely don't feel like it's a vacation without buying something with Mickey's face on it, head to one of the Disney outlet stores just outside of the park area. There are three outlets that take from 7 to 18 minutes to drive to from the Disney parks. Each of the outlet stores carries hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, beach towels, coffee mugs, pins and a huge variety of other souvenirs. Almost every items in these stores is 50% off the price in the parks, and some of it is up to 80% off. Who cares if it's last season's Mickey head design if you're paying 20 cents on the dollar?

Disney World souvenirs don't have to be expensive plush toys that sit on a shelf and collect dust all year. Get creative with your souvenir hunting and pick up a series of items that remind you of your magical time but don't cost a fortune. After all, it's the memories that count, not how much you spent in building them.

Check out my Theme Park Blog: themeparktours.blogspot.com Part 1: www.youtube.com Part 2: www.youtube.com Part 3: www.youtube.com Part 4: www.youtube.com Epcot is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort, located near Orlando, Florida. The park is dedicated to international culture and technological innovation. The second park built at the resort, it opened on October 1, 1982 and was named EPCOT Center until 1994. In 2009, Epcot hosted approximately 11 million guests, ranking it the third most visited theme park in the United States, and sixth most visited in the world.[1] Epcot is an acronym of Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, a utopian city of the future planned by Walt Disney. Disney's original vision of EPCOT was for a model community, home to twenty thousand residents, which would be a test bed for city planning and organization. Disney's vision was not realized as funding and permission to start work on his Florida property would not be granted until he agreed to build the Magic Kingdom first. Disney died before the Magic Kingdom opened and the Walt Disney Company decided that it did not want to be in the business of running a city. The theme park originally was known as EPCOT Center to reflect the fact that the park was built to embody the ideals and values of EPCOT the city. The ...
